On Saturday, May 3, Milford Historical Society will hold their annual Spring Antique Show on the lawn of Parson Thorne Mansion from 9 AM to 3 PM. This event will feature several antique dealers offering items for sale.
“This has always been one of our biggest events,” Ralph Prettyman, President of the historical society said. “Our dealers have been coming for decades and we are excited to be able to offer some unique items from several different vendors.”
In addition to the antique dealers, the Milford Garden Club will be on hand selling spring flowers at the event.
“We will be offering annuals, perennials, wildflowers and gifts that day,” Linda McDevitt, marketing chair for the garden club, said. “We appreciate the opportunity the Milford Historical Society gives us at this event to provide everyone with some beautiful flowers as the spring planting season kicks off.”
The Parson Thorne Mansion will be open for tours that day as well with volunteers dressed in period costume. Light refreshments will be available in the newly refurbished kitchen for this event.
“We hope everyone comes out to enjoy beautiful spring weather and finds something special to bring home from one of our dealers,” Prettyman said. “Not only will the garden club be there with beautiful flowers, which we must say would be perfect for Mother’s Day, their Master Gardener will be on hand to answer any questions you may have about spring planting.”
Due to the antiques show, the historical society will open the mansion on the first Saturday of May, and it will not be open on the second Saturday of the month as it is during other months.
Admission to the event is $1 and donations are accepted. All proceeds go to support the preservation and maintenance of the mansion.
