Tyler Montgomery Wilson passed away on March 27, 2026, as the result of an automobile accident. He was 32 years old.
Born January 17, 1994, in Lewes, Tyler was the second oldest of five children. He graduated from Cape Henlopen High School in 2013.
An avid gardener, Tyler held various jobs throughout Lewes and Rehoboth. Tyler had a passion for cooking and also a compassionate, loving companion to his brothers and sisters. He was truly his big brother’s keeper. Tyler loved hard when it came to those that loved him and he had a heart of gold. Tyler’s dad likened him to the tortoise, that he was the one that fit the “slow and steady wins the race” since he was deliberate and steadfast in his ways.
Family and friends left notes of condolence on his obituary.
“Praying for the Wilson family,” Gator and Sabine Alston wrote. “We love you, Tyler. You will never be forgotten.”
Tyler’s memory will be cherished by his mother, Tiffany Gooch (Calvert); his siblings, Cameron, Ajanne, Ayden and Kennedy Wilson; maternal grandmother, Ralph Gooch; paternal grandmother, Dorethea Howell and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephes and godchildren. He also leaves behind his special friends, Randi Riggs, Jalyn Maull and Brianna Schaefer.
Tyler was preceded in death by his father, Tony Wilson, his grandmother, Betty Gooch and his uncle Jerry Williams.
“We will miss his big smile and his goofy ways,” his family said.
