Harold David Gallery, Jr. passed way February 9 surrounded by his loving family at his home in Lincoln. Harold was an ironworker who helped construct many of the Ocean City high rises as well as the Chesapeake Bay Bridge.
Born the son of the late Harold David Gallery Sr. and Elizabeth Mary Clark Gallery, Harold also worked with operating engineers dredging bays and doing beach replenishment. He loved the outdoors, enjoyed cutting grass and was an avid bike rider, known to ride his bike miles.
Harold was an avid pool player and was trained in karate. His family was the most important thing to Harold, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren who he loved deeply.
Harold is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Florence Marlene Baker Gallery; his three daughters, Michele Mankins (Acie); Tammy Costello and Heather Gallery; two brothers, Martin Gallery and Danny Gallery; a sister Vivian Rohrbaugh; five grandchildren, Brandon Kelley, Amber Bennett, Aimee Mankins, Kaci Kelley, Brooke Mankins and Evan Dennis; four great-grandchildren, Kevin Bennett, Bodhi Smith, Cason Smith and Lilliannah Gallery-Dennis. He will be greatly missed by his faithful white German Shepherd, Rylee.
In addition to his parents, Harold was preceded in death by his two sisters, Marlen Meyers and Martha Susnowitz.
A celebration of life for Harold will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford De. 19963.
