Second Street Players announces auditions for its spring comedy, Girls’ Weekend by Karen Schaeffer – a fast paced, heartfelt comedy about friendship, chaos, and what happens when a quiet getaway goes very wrong.
Director Chris Ennis will hold open auditions for Girls’ Weekend on Friday, March 6 and Saturday, March 7, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Riverfront Theater, located at 2 S. Walnut Street in Milford. Callbacks will be held only if needed. The show features strong roles for four women and four men, sharp comedy and plenty of big moments balanced with real emotional truth. Actors should prepare a 1 to 2-minute monologue (comedic preferred) for their audition.
Auditions will be held in scheduled time slots. For information regarding time slots, please go to our website, www.secondstreetplayers.com. A full audition packet with character descriptions will be sent once an audition time is set. Those selected for the cast must be available to perform in all six shows in order to audition. Performance dates are May 8, 9, 10 and 15, 16, 17, 2026.
In this lightning-quick farce, four women travel to Dot’s Northwoods cabin to consume copious amounts of wine, laugh at their lives, trade stories and chat about their book club’s latest selection. However, after the third case of wine comes through the door, it becomes clear there will be more stewing than reviewing. The madcap, door-slamming chaos comes to a head when Dot wakes up and discovers her girls’ weekend is full of…well, we don’t want to spoil it all!
Please check the SSP website for more information on casting opportunities.
Girls’ Weekend is presented through special arrangement with Dramatic Publishing (dramaticpublishing.com).
