Cynthia “Cyndi” Clendaniel passed away February 10, 2026, at Bayhealth surrounded by her family. She was 73.
Employed by Arrow Safety Device for 17 years, Cyndi went to work for Cape Henlopen School District where she retired after over 32 years of dedicated service. She loved her community and was a proud member of the Milton Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary, joining them in 1993. She enjoyed volunteering at the company’s many dinners and chicken salad sales.
Cyndi loved playing bingo with her dear friends, Chris and “Bingo Bob.” She also enjoyed playing cards with her sister, Darlene and friend, Adrienne. What Cyndi loved most was spending time with her family and watching her grandsons whenever she was needed.
“She was the BEST Mom-Mom,” a wonderful and loving mother to her “boys” and an immensely proud grandmother,” her obituary read.
Cyndi is survived by her sons, Charles Jr. and his wife, Robin; her son Chad, and his wife Donna; their father, Charles Sr.; sisters, Darlene Zacharias and her husband John of Onancock, Virginia and Debbie Gray, of Lebanon, Missouri. Cyndi is also survived by her grandsons, Tyler and his wife, Rachel; Sean, Chris and Colton; great-grandsons, Cash, Hudson and Ryder; nephew, John Zacharias of Lewes, niece, Karen West of Milford and many more friends.
Cyndi was preceded in death by her parents and her brother-in-law, Bill Gray.
At her request, services will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Milton Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary, 116 Front Street, Milton DE 19968, or to a local food pantry.
