With 2026 an election year, Milford Times will accept Letters to the Editor related to political races. This is to provide some guidelines to those who wish to express their opinion during what can be a heated election cycle.
All letters to the editor must be related to local races only. Letters related to national races will not be published. We will publish letters related to school board, city council as well as state legislative races.
All letters must be signed with the city of residence provided. Published letters can remain anonymous if the sender requests it, but the editor must have the name and city of the sender on file for legal reasons.
Please do not use profanity or unacceptable slurs against any candidate.
Candidates are welcome to send their own letters to the editor, but all letters must include a statement that the letter was approved by the candidate. Letters from candidates will not be kept anonymous.
Letters to the editor that are published should not be considered the thoughts, beliefs or opinions of any editor or reporter at Milford Times. They are the sole thoughts, beliefs and opinions of the letter writer.
Letters can be sent to [email protected] or [email protected]. The deadline for each week’s This Week in Milford edition is Wednesday by 4 PM. Letters received after the deadline will be published the following week. All letters to the editor will also be posted on social media the same week.
