The holiday shopping season officially starts this weekend. For those who are headed out shopping, Milford businesses are offering many specials to help save on those gifts for friends and family.
“We will be starting the weekend with a bang!” Chantel Helmick, co-owner of The Farmacy, said. “On Black Friday, earn 10 percent back in Farmacy Market bucks on any in-store purchase. We will celebrate our second anniversary on Small Business Saturday with several deals. Spend $75 and get a free bath bomb. Spend $125 and select a free six-pack of macarons and a free bath bomb. Spend $250 and get a free hand-woven market basket along with the macarons and bath bomb!”
Anyone who cannot make it into the store on Saturday, the deals continue on Sunday. Helmick also stated that those who purchase $100 in e-gift cards on their website on Cyber Monday will receive $10 added instantly. The Farmacy Market is located at 28 South Walnut Street.
“We are closed on Friday to give our staff some time with family,” Mark Dissinger, owner of Dolce, said. “But on Small Business Saturday, for every $25 in gift cards you purchase, you get $5 free!” Dolce can be found at 36 North Walnut Street.
Irish Rose, located at 46 North Walnut Street, will offer 10 percent off all sweaters and capes on Black Friday as well as Small Business Saturday. They will also offer 10 percent on fine jewelry from Boru. All items are made in Ireland.
“We are kicking off our First Annual Black Friday Extravaganza,” Ashlee Payton and Brynn Byerly, owners of The Collective, said. “Our sale kicks off on Thanksgiving Day from 10 AM Thursday to 6 AM Friday. All online purchases will get 25 percent off. On Black Friday, from 9 AM to 5 PM in the store and from 6 PM Friday to 6 AM Saturday online, we will offer 30 percent off the entire purchase. The first 10 people to spend $150 will receive a curated swag bag valued at $75. We are also offering a free gift for purchases over $100.”
On Small Business Saturday from 9 AM to 5 PM in the store and from 6 PM Saturday to 6 AM Sunday online, The Collective will offer 20 percent off the entire purchase. They are also offering Build Your Own Style Bags which includes three mix and match items for $85, a retail value of $125 to $150. Spend $150 and receive a $10 gift card to a local business, such as The Cured Plate, Dolce, fondue and My Sister’s Fault. The Collective is located at 33 North Walnut Street.
“Don’t forget the fur babies in your family,” Sherry Shupe, owner of Fur Baby Pet Resort, said. “On Small Business Saturday, we are offering Bocce Training Bites for $1 off, Meow & Doggijuana Refillable Toys for $1.50 off. We are also offering deals on Fromm dog and cat food as well as Fromm treats. Our Give a Pet Bagged Treats will be buy two, get one free and our Instinct Sampler Box Frozen Food is $5 off.”
Other deals on Small Business Saturday include discounts on My Perfect Pet, Rawz Wet Can Dog Food, Raised Right Frozen Food, Bear. The Rat Box FroYo, Honest Kitchen Pour Over & Bagged Treats, Zignature Kangaroo Dry Kibble, both medium and large bags. The Milford location will be closed on Black Friday, but the Rehoboth location will be open from 6 AM to 9 PM. Fur Baby Pet Resort is located at 301 Northeast Front Street.
“Our specials in Rehoboth include buy one ornament, get one free,” Shupe said. “We will also have buy five gourmet cookies, get one free and buy winter apparel, including jackets and sweaters for 50 percent off when you buy one. We will also offer 25 percent off pet apparel and 15 percent off human gifts. Spend $75 and get two no-hide stirps free. Spend $125 and get two no hide strips along with either a Pavilion Santa or Pet Lou toy free.”

Until December 1, Fur Baby is also offering Holiday Daycare Packages. The Frosty the Snowman Package is $380 and includes 10 daycare days plus one day free. The Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer Package is $760 and includes 20 free day care days plus 20 munchies free. The Frosty package expires 60 days after purchase and the Rudolph package expires 120 days after purchase. Payment by cash, check or credit card. There is a processing fee for debit cards.
“We will be participating in Black Friday, Small Bus Saturday, Appreciation Sunday, and Cyber Monday,” Shelby Grant, owner of June Bugs, said. “We are kicking off our Black Friday specials on Thanksgiving day with an online sale since our storefront will be closed for the holiday. We are offering brand new arrivals, doorbusters, gifts with purchases, and different percentages off the store each day!”
According to Grant, on Thanksgiving Day, shoppers will receive 25 percent off sitewide online since June Bugs is closed for the holiday. On Black Friday, shoppers will receive 35 percent off both online and in-store while on Small Business Saturday, they will receive 20 percent off both online and in-store purchases. On Appreciation Sunday, shoppers will receive 20 percent off both in-store and online.
“We are closed on Monday, so we will offer a big Cyber Monday sale,” Grant said. “Shop online and receive 40 percent off sitewide!”
June Bugs will be open Friday and Saturday from 10 AM to 4 PM and on Sunday from 10 AM to 2 PM. They are located in Penny Square, 39 North Walnut Street, Suite 105.

“On Small Business Saturday, we will offer special deals from select craft vendors plus $5 craft supply grab bags in the store, “Kori Lewandowski, owner of the Craft Reader, located in Suite 104 in Penny Square, said. “Online, we will offer 20 percent off all orders over $50 and free shipping for orders over $75.”
Another special offered at the Crafty Reader on Small Business Saturday is a book swap from 10:30 to 11:30 AM.
“One reader’s ‘I need to clear shelf space’ is another reader’s ‘adding this to my TBR!’” Lewandowski said. “Bring any books you’re looking to get rid of and see if someone brought a book you’d like to take home. We will also have 30 percent off the Crafty Reader apparel, but there are limited sizes, styles and colors available.”
Not Too Shabby, located at 614 Northwest Front Street, will be closed on Black Friday, but is ready to celebrate on Small Business Saturday.
“On small business will have a local coffee trailer, The Next Chapter, in our parking lot serving coffee,” Don Vaughn, co-owner of Not Too Shabby, said. “We will have a one day sale only with discounts on Christmas pillows, Christmas rugs, and select Christmas decor.”
Closed on Black Friday, Downtown Milford Inc. will open their Milford store on Small Business Saturday.
“We have a wonderful selection of Milford merchandise,” Sade Truiett, Downtown Milford Coordinator, said. “We have hoodies, tank tops, t-shirts, long sleeve t-shirts, wine glasses, pint glasses and more for sale. Our first in a series of collectable ornaments is available for $10 and feature Milford’s own Santa Clause! We offer a 10 percent discount to all veterans and active military plus first responders. All proceeds go to support the mission of Downtown Milford Inc. to create a vibrant, exciting downtown.”
