
A head-on collision near Hollymount Road and Scottie Run in Harbeson caused critical injuries to one person, a woman, leading them to be airlifted to Christiana Medical Center. Another person was transported to local medical facilities by ambulance. Names of the injured have not been released.
On the afternoon of October 31, a blue Cadillac XT sedan collided with a white Dodge Durango as well as a white Dodge Charger while traveling on Hollymount Road. The driver of the Charger was entrapped and had to be extricated by Indian River Fire Department. In addition to the fire company, Mid Sussex Rescue Squad, Sussex County Paramedics and the Delaware State Police Aviation Unit responded to the scene. First responders from Millsboro Fire Department also assisted.
Emergency response crews performed a vehicle extraction, vehicle stabilization, patient assessment and other mitigating activities such as traffic control, fluid and debris recovery, landing zone assignment and more.
Hollymount Road between Beaver Dam Road and Harbeson Road were closed for several hours as the Delaware State Police investigated. The investigation is still ongoing and troopers are asking anyone who witnessed the crash or has information relevant to the incident to contact Troop 7 by calling 302-644-5020.
