Bayhealth recently announced Aditya Sharma, MD, MBA, FACC, FSCAI, as the new Chief of Medical Cardiology at their Heart and Vascular Institute. Sharma will serve as the lead physician in Bayhealth’s cardiology department, overseeing a highly qualified team of cardiologists, interventionalists and advanced practice clinicians.

Sharma has extensive experience in interventional cardiology and cardiovascular leadership. Before joining Bayhealth, he served as interventional cardiologist at Geisinger Medical Clinic in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania. He has also served as Director of Cardiology Service Line for the West Region at WellSpan Health in Carlisle, Pennsylvania.
Earning his medical degree from Katsurba Medical College in Manipal, Karnataka, he completed his internal medicine residencies at Penn State Hershey Medical Center and later at George Washington University, where he served as Chief Resident. He remained at GW to complete fellowships in cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology. He also completed a Health Policy Fellowship and obtained an MBA from GW. Sharma states he entered medicine because of his passion for public health and to meet the needs of people in the communities he would call home.
