Bayhealth Sussex Campus announced their class schedule for August recently. The hospital offers a wide range of classes and programs, many of which are free.
On August 5 from 11 AM to 2 PM, August 13 from 4 to 7 PM and August 19 from 11 to 2 PM, birth center tours are available for expectant parents. The tours provide information on birthing suites, introduction to staff and personalized care options. Staff is also on hand to answer any questions. Tour participants meet in the lobby of the Center for Women and Infants on the third floor of the hospital.
On August 20 from 6 to 7 PM, the Bariatric Support Group meets in conference room 2002. The support group is designed to provide education, assistance and support for healthier lifestyle and behaviors. IT is a safe, positive and secure environment for both bariatric and weight management patients, their care partners and support people. It is also a great place for people considering bariatric surgery to learn more about it.
Meetings are both in-person and virtual and registration is available by emailing [email protected] or calling 302-638-0716.
The Diabetes Support Group meets on August 19 from 1 to 2 PM. This meeting is virtual and is led by experienced diabetes educators. It is a welcoming, non-judgmental space for those living with diabetes to share experiences, learn management tips and connect with others. To register, call 302-310-4200 and choose option 2.
The Better Breathers Club meets on August 21 from 2:30 to 4:30 PM in Community Room 1000 in the cafeteria. This is a group for those dealing with COPD or other lung diseases. The group provides skills to manage lung conditions and improve quality of life. Registration is not required.
