On Friday, September 18, 2026, Antony J. Vican, Jr. (Jay), a loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away at the age of 81.
He was preceded in death by his late wife, Barbara Lee Vican.
Jay was born on October 19, 1944, in Milford, DE to Antony and Betty (Tucker-Slote) Vican. He graduated from Milford High School in Milford, DE in 1963. Jay honorably served our country as a Combat Engineer in the U.S. Army from 1964 to 1967. He met and later married Barbara Lee Boswell in Milford, DE on November 25, 1967. He worked for Verizon (formally Diamond State Telephone Co and Bell Atlantic) for 42 years when he retired in 2010. Jay was an active member and volunteer in the (Telephone) Pioneers and the Milford Lions Club.
Jay is survived by his son Darren and daughter-in-law Kristen, his grandchildren Logan, Kyle, Avery and Chase of Millersville, MD, his daughter Maria Vican of Milford, DE, his siblings, Mary Sue Vican, Mark Vican and his wife Chris, Brice Vican and his wife Julie, and his sister-in-law, Denise Vican, wife of his late brother, Richard Vican.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11AM on Saturday, September 26 at Rogers Funeral Home, 301 Lakeview Ave., Milford, DE. Friends may arrive at 10AM.
