
Delaware State Police arrested William Charleston, 49, and Jerome Charleston, 47, both of Bridgeville, on felony drug and weapons charges following a search warrant in Bridgeville earlier this month.
On August 7, members of the Sussex County Special Investigations Unit and Delaware State Police Special Operations Response Team, executed a search warrant on a property on Mill Park Drive in Bridgeville. The warrant was obtained following an investigation into the two men for distribution of illegal narcotics from the property. There was a child present during the search warrant. Both suspects were detained without incident.
A search of the residence and vehicles on the property led to the discovery of approximately 85.19 grams of crack cocaine; approximately 1.23 grams of heroin; a .32 caliber handgun; assorted ammunition; digital scale and drug paraphernalia; $1,410 in suspected drug proceeds.
William Charleston was arrested and taken to Troop 4 where he was charged with manufacture, deliver, possession with intent to deliver, a controlled substance, tier 3 quantity; possession of controlled substance, tier 3; unlawful to knowingly operate or attempt to operate a clandestine laboratory; conspiracy second degree – agreement to engage in felony criminal conduct; endangering the welfare of a child by committing a drug offense with a child in the dwelling; possession of drug paraphernalia.
He was arraigned by the Justice of the Peace and released on $111,600 unsecured bond.

Jerome Charleston was arrested and taken to Troop 4 where he was charged with possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony; possess, purchase, own or control a firearm/destructive weapon if previously convicted of two violent felonies on separate occasions; possess, purchase, own or control a firearm or ammunition by a person prohibited prior violent crime or felony; manufacture, deliver, possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, tier 3 quantity; possession of a controlled substance, tier 3 quantity; manufacture, deliver, possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance; possession of controlled substance, tier 1; conspiracy second degree – agreement to engage in felony criminal conduct; unlawful to knowingly operate or attempt to operate a clandestine laboratory; endangering the welfare of a child by committing a drug offense with a child in the dwelling; possession of drug paraphernalia.
He was arraigned by the Justice of the Peace and committed to the Department of Correction on $215,100 cash bond.
Jerome Charleston was arrested in 2021 after Delaware State Police were called to a residence on Evans Drive for a criminal investigation. There they discovered heroin, crack cocaine and drug paraphernalia. After that arrest, he was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on $32,000 secured bond. There is no information regarding a conviction on that crime. However, Jerome Charleston is also listed as a Tier 3 – High Risk offender on the Delaware Sex Offender Registry. According to the registry, he was convicted in August 2011 of unlawful sexual contact second degree, unlawful sexual contact with a person under the age of 13 and rape in the fourth degree of a victim who was between the age of 12 and 15.
