Milford Police Department announced the arrest of Deberson Jean Baptiste on August 3, 2026, on burglary charges following a domestic-related incident that occurred on July 18, 2026, on Columbia Street in Milford.
An investigation revealed that Jean Baptiste did unlawfully enter and remain int eh victim’s residence without permission and, while inside, damaged property. Officers learned that Jean Baptiste committed these acts in sight and sound of children inside the residence.
Further investigation revealed that Jean Baptiste was out on bond regarding another domestic related case involving the same victim.
Jean Baptiste was charged with burglary second degree; breach of conditions of bond during commitment; endangering the welfare of a child – committed crime child witnessed by sight/sound; and criminal mischief under $1,000.
After presentment through the Justice of the Peace Court 3 where the magistrate revoked his previous bond and issued an additional $14,100 secured bond with a no contact order with the victims in this case, Jean Baptiste was turned over to the Department of Correction with a future court date in Sussex County.
